Walworth County Fair – Truck & Tractor Pulls

I’ve been going to the Walworth County Fair for as long as I can remember. It’s what we do over Labor Day weekend. We meet up with family and friends, eat food on-a-stick, have a cinnamon roll, see the farm animals and look through the 4H buildings.

Over the years we’ve seen numerous bands in concert, demolition derby’s, harness races and truck & tractor pulls. I even remember as a kid going down the zip line that was setup by the Wisconsin National Guard.

The Truck & Tractor Pulls have become one of the “Guy” events we go to. These turbo-charged alcohol fueled tractors are quite fun to watch. They’re loud, powerful, and sometimes close to being out of control. The trucks are just as fun to watch, although the sound they produce is quite different from the tractors. The loud rumble shakes the grandstands! Over the next few days I’ll be posting some photographs from this event.

The fair grounds are located in Elkhorn, WI just north of Lake Geneva and this is their 164th year!
